Munich

We had a good flight from Sydney with Etihad.  Stopped at Abu Dhabi to change planes.  Barry Humphries was  on our flight.  We saw him but didn't talk to him.
We arrived in Munich at 1:30pm and managed to find our way on the trains to our hotel.
Next day on thursday we did a city tour on the "hop-on hop-off" bus.  This took us around the city and then to the main places we wanted to see.  Nymphenburg Palace & Gardens  and then to the BMW museum.  Both were so interesting for different reason.

Friday we went to Altotting near where Hans lived as a small child before coming to Australia.  This is about 60km east of Munich so it was great to be able to see the country side. We had to change trains a few times including a bus section around some construction works.  Still the bus took us through some villages which would have been bypassed by the train.   The church at Altotting is a shrine for thanking Mary for answered prayer.

Great day out and the weather has been great.
Today, saturday we went into the city to have a look around the old city centre, the markets and famous glockenspiel.
Our tour starts today with a brief look around Munich and then a get together with nibbles to meet the other people on the tour.
